Tony has been involved in Electrical equipment for over 40 years and has over the years completed many courses in mechanical and electronic engineering. A mobile disc jockey himself he found that he needed all his own equipment checking. Cables are a major source of problems especially when used in the field a lot as they can easily become faulty often simply because of mishandling or general wear and tear. although it is  not compulsory to have these checked and certified, the cost to have this done is relatively inexpensive and will give the user a lot of peace of mind. When we come out to you, you will 

get a pass sticker applied to all assets tested and a fail sticker for any defective assets.

A full itemised asset list and a certificate will be supplied, normally next day after the visit.

We always visually inspect leads and appliances as well as testing on a machine.

Where a plug is not moulded and can be dismantled, an inspection is made to check the correct fuses are installed and that the wiring is safe. This is done as part of the service with Hills pat testing. (Not all pat testers will do this.) We have seen some horror stories over the years where plugs have been wired by someone who is incompetent. this can easily be the cause of an electrical fire.

We carry out pat safety testing on portable electrical appliances ​of all types. our clients currently are mainly hotels, offices, workshops,schools and garages, we serve mobile discos and other entertainments.

Pat testing of electrical appliances is not by law compulsory but in this day and age, there is a lot of emphasis on health and safety at workplaces and venues.  

If you hold a pat test certificate then this is a good selling point for your business. More often, hotels and other venues are asking to see a service providers pat certificate before you can set up your equipment on their premises.

Many insurers also insist on PAT testing of your appliances.
